Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a British and American sitar player. She also performs music. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and first female recipient. Apart from the nine Grammy awards and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the very first Indian-origin musician to be a presenter and performer during the ceremony live. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging star on sitar music. Indian sitar. She is a student as well as daughter of the famous Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982. In the first few years of her life she was split her time between London New Delhi. At the age of 13, she gave her first show in New Delhi. After moving to Encinitas, CA in 1999 she received the high-school diploma. Anouskha still has a promising career in recording and performing even though she's young. She regularly accompanies her father on stage, which she's been doing for a number of years. In 1998, she debuted her first single album Anourag. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. The stage is a very large part of her career. She's played in many major venues all over the world. Anoushka isn't just a performer. She also published Bapi The Love of My Life in the year 2002. The book is a biography which pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as the role of a Bharat Nathyam young dancer Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shankar's career continues to grow and we can expect to see a lot from her in the years to be. Anoushka Shankar was born in England and spent the majority of her youth living between London and Delhi then moving to California where she went to the high school. Anoushka Shankar began her musical studies when she was nine. A few years later, she made her sitar debut in Delhi for her father's 70th birthday party. Anoushka performed with her father throughout his global tour, gained an impressive amount of experience. As a teenager, she appeared at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and recorded alongside George Harrison. The House of Commons Shield was presented in her honor by the British Parliament as the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and youngest recipient of this award.
